Sunshine 16: Lip Balms with SPF/LSF

Hi guys:),

the weather plays crazy and good for us to enjoy a perfect garden barbecue/pool party, picnic or a nice lovely day at the beach!:) But what we normally forget to protect are our lips. Which can probably cause, that years later we could have deep wrinkles in it or they could turn uneven like we used to know them!

"Right DON'T forget your lips!"

I've tested these two sun protect lipbalms for you and here's the review:

1. Labello Sun Protect waterproof lipbalm with a SPF/LSF of 30:
(Photo Credit: Labello AT - I don't own it!)

This little treasure will gives you a promptly sun protection and a longterm moisture without any whitness on your lips! It contains sun flower extract and it's water-& heat-proof up to 50 °C!

How to apply/How often?:

You should apply a nice amount of this lip balm before you go out on the hot sun. To keep up the sun protection you've to apply it several times after you've been a pretty time in the lovely salty sea/lake or pool or just after you've been a long time on the sun!

Cera Microcristallina, Octyldodecanol, Cetyl Palmitate, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Homosalate, Octocrylene, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmenthane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Myristyl Myristate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, C20-40 Alkyl Stearate, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Helianthus Annuus Seed Extract, Cera Alba, Glyceryl Glucoside, Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Limonene, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral, Parfum, CI 77891, CI 77492

My own opinion:

I know this sun protection lip balm from Labello pretty well since my childhood, where it was sold too just the packaging/design has changed a bit! (oh I'll make a Labello packaging history soon too:)) and I'm of the opinion, that it was more creamy and the scent was better - so the old formula was much better (the Ingredients list as you've maybe recognized above is PRETTY HUGE!, that's what I don't really like in my cosmetics!) But the higher SPF/LSF of 30 is better than before, as you maybe didn't know, that the first sold Labello sun Protection only has a SPF/LSF of 12! So as the weather has changed dramatically the labello lip balm industry has changed their sun protection lip balm formula not only twice!

I would recommend this lip balm, if you're a fan of labello (to have it in your own Labello Collection), if you don't like dry/white/or non-smooth lip balms and wish for a non-creamy but smooth and soft lip sun protection or if you like to try out a new sun protect lip balm. I'm not really a fan of Labello sun protect - the Ingredients list and the non-creamyness and just the scent and feeling of it - doesn't hit my heart!

This sun protect lip balm from Lavera Natural Cosmetics is 100% natural, water-resistant and immediately effective. It contains organic oils and natural moisturising factors to protect lips and prevent them from drying out. It creates a light white coat on your lips - as it contains Zinc Oxide - which is in fact one of the SPF/LSF natural ingredients!

How to apply/How often?:

You should apply the Lavera Lip Balm with SPF/LSF 10 low generously and evenly to your lips - don't apply a little amount -  which could cause a reduction of protection! Reapply frequently after you've been in the sea/pool/lake etc. or just for a longer time outside! You should also know, that the SPF/LSF of 10 would not grow higher/no increase by applying several layers at once! After you've applyed your lip and body sun protection make sure don't stay too long in the sun and avoid the midday sun!

My own opinion:

It's my fav' between the two lip balms I've shown/reviewed you here in this post about "Lipbalms with SPF/LSF" - as the Ingredients list isn't too long and contains in fact a huge amount of natural/organic things like Zinc Oxide, Beta-Carotene (which can't be too much for summer!:)), Aloe Extract and of course healthy oils like: Soja, Sweet Almond Oil or the beloved Jojoba Oil! It's full with natural treasures, which protect your lips from the "bad" sun lights:)

Just the SPF/LSF of 10 low - is REALLY low! It could be 25 or 20! - So I would really recommend this product as it's almost scentless just a light-scent (which should be a problem for all:)) and the dry-&creamy formula is just amazing! I mean it's dry but after you've put it on your lips it turns creamy - it's lovely and I will definitely recommend it to wear it during June, July or Spring days when the temperature and UVA/UVB must not be soo high like in the middle-/hot summer days. Or for people who are not light-/very light- skin types (so not blonde/red heads!:)) but mediterran/dark skin types - it should be enough of SPF/LSF!

I'll buy it again - but I'm still on the hunt for a perfect (it must not be a natural/organic) sun protection lipbalms with SPF/LSF 20 - 50 for my vacation!

If you've liked this post/find it interesting and you know a better or a sun protection lip balm with a higher SPF/LSF perfect for summer vacation - Please let me know that in the comment section!

I wish you a lovely sunday afternoon.
